Bad Reads

I have really been struggling with finding good books to read. There are so many out there, so where are all the good ones??? I find myself getting 1/3 of the way into a book and end up ditching it. When I find myself finding no emotional attachment to any of the characters and don't care how it ends, I ditch it.

The Road - ditched
The Red Tent- ditched
The Kite Runner - ditched half way through
Inkheart - finished but struggled a little
Inkdeath- ditched
The Good Thief - ditched
3 Cups of Tea - finished (but barely)
Harry Potter- devoured (multiple times)
Lord of the Rings - devoured
The Hobbit - ditched
A Walk to Remember - ditched
Catch 22 - ditched
The Scarlet Letter - Devoured
The Count of Monte Cristo - Devoured
To Kill a Mockingbird- Devoured
Twilight-Devoured the 1st one, finished the 2nd and 3rd, ditched the 4th.
The Hunger Games - Devoured all 3
Tuesdays with Morrie - Ditched
The 5 people you meet in Heaven - STRUGGLED
The Glass Castle - Devoured
Alice in Wonderland - OK
The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime - barely finished

The books I tend to soak up are my nonfictional church writings. But I really do like fiction when I do find a book that I like. It's just that I have a really hard time finding one, and I feel like I waste more time in starting stupid ones then I do really immersed in a good book. Wish I knew it was good before I picked it up. So if anyone has any good book suggestions. I am obviously willing to try. :)

Ooooh...I LOVED the Inkworld series (Inkspell, Inkheart, Inkdeath), especially the first one. I also loved The Five People You Meet in Heaven; and The Book Thief is in my top 5 for sure! Hmm...lemme think what I can tell you I liked that you might also like...

Have you tried reading the Fablehaven series? Or Leven Thumps? I thought they were both goood. If I can think of anything else, I'll let you know...

Good luck!

Hey cute girl! Wow it's been awhile since I've commented! When are you coming back to Nebraska huh??? I got a kick out of your reading list and what you liked. We are total opposites. Loved the kite runner, HATED twilight and Harry Potters but LOVED the Glass Castle. You still have my respect :) Love ya cute girl. Hope you're doing great!
