I have had a lengthy conversation with a friend about leagues in dating. She even wrote me a 5 page paper on why she believes that leagues don't exist. This is my opinion.
Leagues exist! But because of some people's own perceptions of themselves the leagues get skewed.

I think I agree with you, although I believe I had a friend who once told me, "There are only two leagues. The one you can date and the one that's your gender." Something like that.
